This lively talk by Fiona Davison on the crucial role gardening played in enabling and enriching life outside the norms of conventional Edwardian society, when Great Ambrook’s garden was created, looking at the ways gay and lesbian gardeners shaped garden style.

Fiona Davison is the author of An Almost Impossible Thing: The Radical Lives of Britain’s Pioneering Women Gardeners (2023), and Head of Libraries and Exhibitions for the Royal Horticultural Society.
