With a passion for plants and plant conservation, Devon horticulturist Caradoc Doy gives an interesting and entertaining talk about plants and plant hunters that squeezes 200 years of gardening history into 60 minutes with the aid of a few props and some interesting plants! Come along if you wish to learn more about the dangers and adventures of plant hunting during the Victorian heyday and some of the horticultural treasures discovered along the way.
Caradoc is a Devon-based horticulturist, who is currently researching the first major plant importers to England, James Veitch & Sons, which was based in Exeter and Chelsea in the late-nineteenth century.
